Bookmemark acknowledges the privacy of the users of our website and services and are committed to protecting it. We have created this policy to demonstrate our commitment to you and to help you understand it.
We may collect personal information, including email addresses, when individuals register to use the Bookmemark website and services, post a link to the Bookmemark website or submit questions, comments or bug reports. We may also, at times, collect our users' IP addresses and information regarding our users' use of our website and services. We may use such IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our servers, track movement within our website and, if necessary, deny service in accordance with our Terms of Service. We may also collect information related to the referring URL, access times and browser type. Unless required by law, we will not share our users' personal information, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and usage information, except with their consent or in aggregate or anonymous form, with third parties.
In order to offer and provide optimized and personalized services, we use cookies to store and sometimes track information about our users. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to a user's browser from a web server and is eventually stored on a user's computer hard drive.
Our services give you the opportunity to opt-in to receive communications from us. Visit your Bookmemark Settings to edit your profile and other information. When you're signed in, Bookmemark page headers will include a link to Settings. You can delete your Bookmemark account through your Settings.
Bookmemark reserves the right to modify all or some of this Privacy Policy at any time without notice. We will use information only in accordance with the Privacy Policy under which the information was collected unless we have received explicit authorization from the appropriate user(s) to do otherwise.
Sharing Your Information
Bookmemark enables sharing of information with other users/ friends. Information about the people who use Bookmemark is an integral part of the Bookmemark experience. Rest assured that we neither rent nor sell your personal information to anyone and that we will share your personal information only as described below:
- Protection of Bookmemark and Others: We may release personal information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with a law; to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other policies; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bookmemark, our employees, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
- User Profile information: Information collected during registration and subsequent visits, such as your full name and location, may be displayed to other Bookmemark users in your User Profile. The User Profile is the area on Bookmemark where we allow you to tell other Bookmemark users about yourself and your interests.
- Bookmemark team and authorized consultants and/or contractors may have access to user information if necessary in the normal course of Bookmemark business.
- We reserve the right to classify your profile along with similar profiles into target segments for the purpose of advertising. However, no independent profile with specifics would be shared with the advertiser.
- Member Directory: The e-mail address that you submit upon registration will be searchable by other Bookmemark users who know you by your email address, unless you choose to opt out of this feature. This is primarily so that other users can find you to establish friendship through Bookmemark. You may opt-out of this feature by visiting the Privacy Settings section of your User Profile.
- Social sharing of data: Bookmemark allows other users to browse stories that you have collated, shared or commented on. This information is made available via your User Profile. Bookmemark may choose to post this data on other site features.
- Friends' Activity: Much like other online social networks, Bookmemark allows non-friends to browse your friends' activity.
